Preliminary tests required for a HyCoSy (hysterosalpingo-contrast-sonography) include a vaginal discharge culture and an STD4 panel, which screens for Chlamydia, Ureaplasma, Mycoplasma, and Neisseria. Additionally, it is important that the examination is conducted in the first half of the menstrual cycle: after the end of your period but before ovulation.
We generally recommend the third trimester, specifically between the 24th and 34th weeks. At this stage, the baby's features, such as the face, ears, and nose, are clearly visible, but the baby is still small enough to be examined in detail.
After around 34 weeks, the baby has less space and it becomes increasingly difficult to capture clear images, making the examination less visually impressive. Of course, you can come for a baby ultrasound earlier, but the baby will be less formed and detailed at that stage.
The 40-minute infertility/fertility consultation includes a comprehensive discussion of the couple's history, examinations, and results, including both female and male assessments, as well as any previous unsuccessful stimulation, insemination, or IVF cycles. The couple will receive answers to all their questions: which tests are necessary, what their chances are, which techniques they should consider, and what success they might achieve. We will provide detailed information not only about the recommended sequence of tests but also about why each test is suggested (or not suggested), what each test examines, how and why it is conducted, and what therapeutic implications there are in the case of abnormal results.
If necessary and time permits, the consultation may also include a general gynecological examination and ultrasound. (However, it does not cover any laboratory costs for tests such as pap smears, cultures, or STD screenings.)

If you are a registered patient with us, meaning you have visited us at least once and had your annual pap smear performed here within the past year, you can request your usual contraceptive pills by phone or email. If you have had a culture or STD test with us and further treatment is needed as determined by your doctor, which requires a prescription but does not necessitate another in-person consultation, your doctor can issue the necessary prescription online. However, if you have additional questions or if your doctor deems a personal visit necessary, we do not support online prescription requests.
